Hi. I would like not to mesh a component but account for it creating a mass by the panel 1D --> masses. Though, I do not know what the procedure is.

I guess 1. I have to create firstly a property PMASS (create or create/edit?) 2.Then maybe I have to go the panel 1D--> masses. Which elem types do I have to set? Thank you.

    Hi Mirino,

Please use CONM2 for modelling concentrated mass.

When you use conm2 the concentrated mass element, you do not need PMASS,

you can create the conm2 connected to the structure using RBE2, or on a grid,

If the mass is truly concentrated in your model you can enter the mass value in conm2 and that should be sufficient,

If you need inertia effects to be considered you will have to enter the CG data etc see conm2 in help.

Hi. Inside the panel 1D-->masses, it asks me a property. Do I have to leave it blank then? Thank you. When I create RBE2, I select the mass as independent node: is that correct? Thank you.
