    Hi GMCobraz

Have you assigned thickness properties to the blank elements and also are you  using Auto process or user process to set up the forming.

if you are using auto process, use User process instead. image/emoticons/default_smile.png' alt=':)' srcset='/emoticons/smile@2x.png 2x' width='20' height='20'>

    Hi GMCobraz

what is the property type are you using?

can you check the normal directions for the shell elements if you have any in your model?

    Hi Prakash Pragada,

What is mean by property type?

The blank that I used is in .igs format instead of .sta format.

So I need to change the direction of shell elements in order to solve the error?

    Thank you very much.

the tool normals have to point towards the blank. You can check them in (F10--> Keyboard shortcut) normals panel..

    Hi Prakash Pagadala,

I found the normal panel, but how I adjust the normal?

I only manage to reverse the normal but not rotate or change the direction of normal as I want?

    Thank you.

    HI,

Normals are always in perpendicular to plate elements (plane) direction.

    Hi,

I tried to reverse the normal of problem elements but same errors occur.

Is it my error because of my material id and property id not the same?

    Thank you.

    Hi,

    sorry for a late reply.

can you import the .sta file first and then the .hf or .igs file with trim line and check if you are able to run without errors?

    Hi Prakash Pagadala,

I can run the trim stage with .sta from forming stage.

I faced errors in flange stage no matter I use the blank in .sta format or .igs format.

Please help me in flange stage. I can't move on with those errors occured.

    Thank you.

Please delete all setting files (http://forum.altairhyperworks.com/index.php?/topic/13434-how-to-delete-settings-files/?hl=delete) and try the set up as below

    1.    Import .sta file after trimming. should not use the .sta file generated after running trimming but he should use the one used for running trimming.

    2.    Import the .hf file containing the flanging tools

    3.    Set up the flanging and run the analysis

    Hi Prakash Pagadala,

I followed your instructions but the error id 1023 still there.

I don't understand why use the .sta file used for running trimming instead use the .sta after trimming?

    Thank you very much.

    Hi Prakash Pagadala,

I tried to delete all those elements that cause error id 197 and error id 1023 and it manage to run until the generation of engine file which is 001.rad file.

The error message that I got is message id 44: abnormal end.

I checked the connectivity problems but the software told me no. But there are a lot of free edges after I delete those problems elements.

Those problems elements occur at the blank that I imported after forming process only.

Can you please tell me why based on your experience?

    Thank you.

I have replied on mail for some changes.

    1. delete the guide pins

    2. Set up as crash form and use punch velocity

    3. Place the .sta.hmx file in same folder and change the include line as shown below and run analysis
