Convert 2d geometry in 3d Solid
Hi i have to study the displacement on a tube. I need 3d mesh because i have to choose the material. I have as material MAT1 and as property PSOLID (i don't want PSHELL). The problem is that when i selected the surfaces with 'bounding surfaces' it doesn't transform in solid because ' no closed volume found'.
This is one image of the tube.
What else can i do?
Thank you very much

In your case, the geometry is so simple. So you not need a (geometrical) solid to build your 3D mesh.
Just do a 2D mesh on a section and 3D > Drag > Drag element.
That's all.

Sorry but i never did this process because i've always worked with composites with 2D automesh. I don't understand, how can i create the 2D mesh only on one section?
Can you explain me with more detail?
Thank you

Could you share your model?

Yes sure, can i send you to email or there is a way to put the model on this site? Sorry i'm new in this forum. Thank you much

Alberto,
Just rename your file to .jpg and upload it as an image when you reply in this forum,
(make sure you use More reply options to see the file upload option )

I created the 2d mesh on the section, create 3d>drag and i obtained the model in the image. When i start the simulation i have this error
*** ERROR # 2372 ***No PSHELL properties exist in the bulk dataBut i take PSOLID as property. Why this happens? I don't understandThank you very much for your time. Finally i did it, i forgot to delete the 2D elements. Thank you0 -
On your screenshot, I see (maybe I'm wrong) you have only ONE element on thickness?
