Smooth panel

I have used the smooth option for both the 2D and 3D, it increases my quality error. Please let me know in what cases it useful.

It usually improves the element quality. Your case is not easy to discuss without a specific model in front of us. Would you please describe your case in a little more detail? Which element configuration (T3, Q4, T4, or H8)? Which element quality index? What about the other quality index?
