We know it's easy to delect fillet for surface, but I have no idea how to do it for solid. Probably,I Can delect solid so that I can clean up boudary surface. Is there any faster method???

    Hi,

You can use Simlab for 3d meshing .It mesh the part based on feature. This tool is also a part of Hyperworks suite from Hyperworks desktop 12.110.

Identifying such feature like fillets, cylinder ,four side faces is very easy in simlab.Let me know if you need any help wrt to simlab.(Its easy to learn and robust tool for tetrameshing)

    Attached Screenshot is your reference.

    Regards

Some times I have do the same method (delete SOL and work with SURF) with Hypermesh. If solid is not so complex, it's ok.

Or you can use 3rd party software like SpaceClaim.

    Hi,

If You can share your requirement in detail ,it would be nice. We can direct you to use appropriate Hyperworks tool which will meet your requirement.

    Thanks a lot Rahul !

I want to do some 3D geometry clean up in hypermesh so that I can do hexameshing( Now I don't want to use simlab to do tetrameshing).

Now I want to delect fillet  (like figure attached). What  fast-process tool can hypermesh offers me?

    Thank you very much!

Usually I can only get files like parasolid or stp while the designers user Catia to make the model. Can SpaceClaim  do  geomtry clean up for complex solid??

    Hi,

If you want to deafature or convert solid fillets to sharp corner.you can use solid Thinking Inspire CAD cleanup tool for converting solid fillet in to sharp corner.Inspire can easily close cylinder , fill patches and remove logos. After cleanup you can export as stp or igs file and import back in hypermesh for Hexmeshing.

Solid Thinking Inspire tool is meant for Design Engineers who can do quick topology optization and to validate optimized design one can do static and modal analysis.Inspire is also the Hyperworks tool.

You mean this tool is in solid Thinking Inspire? Wow! I need to learn it to have faster pre-process speed.
