3D Remeshing with Imported Point/Node Cloud Information
Hi,
Could anyone kindly explain to me how to build a model with point/node cloud information and then mesh it with Hypermesh please?
I have a model which was built and solved(standard displacement FE) in Abaqus and I am able to extract all element node position information out from the result file(.odb). What I would like to do now is to remesh this deformed geometry so that element distortions can be removed in order to be fed into a second analysis.
Since Abaqus remeshing ability is quite limited, I am hoping Hypermesh can help out.
Any suggestion on how this could possibly be done with Hypermesh? I am totally new to this software so any advice would be extremely helpful.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
Vince

Hi zhangws55
You can create mesh using point cloud data with a tcl script. Please refer to the link below.

The general method is :
- import your points into HM
- build new geometry from imported points by creating lines/arc/surfaces/volume...
- make your new mesh with new geometry
