Im trying to model a aluminum honeycomb sandwich panel in hypermesh but i dont know where start. is it possible to model a 3d model in autocad and import it into hypermesh then perform analysis?
please help
Ofcourse you can model it in any CAD software provided that you can export it to IGES file
After you have CAD model, meshing it is not a big problem
I came accross a very interesting website with more info on this product:
http://www.nauticexpo.com/boat-manufacturer/sandwich-panel-2324.html
I was also looking for the same problem and came across this :
http://www.altairhyperworks.com/hwhelp/Altair/hw12.0/help/hwsolvers/hwsolvers.aspx?mathoneycomb.htm
But, the problem is, in Hypermesh, there is not a material type called LAW28, there are only MAT1... MAT8 etc. I couldn't find which one corresponds to MAT/LAW28.
Does anybody have an idea about that?
Hi,
Please check MAT9ORT which may somehow useful for your model.

Thank you Prakash. I have realized that MAT/LAW28 is usable under Engineering Solutions/Crash user profile. Can I use this material type, but apply a static analysis?
