Why do I get "Can't load addon DLL"?
Submitted by Joe on Wed, 08/11/2010 - 21:39
I have a problem. Every time I run the VisSim, I get 4 message boxes 'can't load addon DLL '***.dll' (cbi.dll, natinst.dll, natinstmx.dll, vsmCamPeak.dll)' , but I find the DLL files in the folder (D:\Program Files\VisSim70 ). What should I do?
Looking for your information. Thanks a lot.

Hi Joe, The VisSim addon DLL's you mention are interfaces to hardware devices. For the DLL to load, you must install the hardware device drivers from the manufacturer of the device:
- cbi.dll need drivers for hardware from www.mccdaq.com
- natinst.dll and natinstmx.dll need drivers from http://www.ni.com
- vsmCanPeak.dll need drivers from http://www.peak-system.com
You can remove the DLL's by opening Edit > Preferences... > Addons, then highlight the DLL that give the error and press the delete key.

The VisSim/CAN and VisSim/RTPro addons work with hardware boards to bring data in and write data out of VisSim in real-time. If you don't have the hardware boards, then don't install these addons.
