Hi,
Please find below answers to your query.
1.It uses Simlab for meshing in the backend when you submit run in Inspire.
2.In Inspire we just provide element size for static and modal run / min member size for optimization.Simlab default take care of element quality called stretch criteria for tetrahedral element (refer attached thumbnail )
Inspire generated fem file if you import in Hypermesh and invoke one card PARAM checkel set to No , then Optistruct solver will run without error.
Basically Inspire is a tool meant for Design Engineer who don't want to spend time for meshing/ quality check and do quick topology optimization, validation optimized part using static and modal analysis. Hence Simlab default take care of element quality based on geometry complexity. If part is having complex feature and simlab fails to generate mesh then you could use geometry cleanup option to overcome such complex feature for meshing.
Hence in Inspire we have envoked some best default card for Optistruct solver for smooth run.You can cross check the same in Inspire generated .fem file (PARAM chekel Card use).
3. If you want to use Inspire for commercial purpose please contact your region Hyperworks support.
