Hi everyone,

I am doing the heat transfer analysis of plate having thickness 300mm.In this problem, i know the temperature on both surface of plate and i just want to find out the heat transfer rate per unit area. Please tell me the steps to be followed. I am new to heat transfer analysis in hypermesh and not able to proceed further after updating the component with material and property. I have also searched for the tutorial in online learning (help). But unable to find.

Thank you

    Hi Ashish,

There are few examples on Heat transfer analysis. Here is one among them: OS-1385: Heat Transfer Analysis on Piston Rings wth GAP Elements

In order to output heat flux, you can use the control card FLUX.

In HyperMesh, go to Analysis>> Control Cards>> Global output request>> Activate FLUX

    All,

You may not need gap elements for such an analysis.see - OS-1085: Linear Steady State Heat Convection Analysis

This tutorial performs a heat transfer analysis on a steel pipe, The temperature on the inside surface of the pipe is 60degree_symbol.pngC.  The outside surface is exposed to the surrounding air, which is at 20degree_symbol.pngC. The temperature distribution within the pipe can be determined by solving the linear steady state heat conduction and convection solution, heat flux results are also discussed here.
