Pressure Vessel Analysis

Sir,

I want to perorm FEA of a pressur vessel. On its meshed model I applied pressure. Now if I want to perform a linear static analysis on it where it is subjected to only pressure type of loading(neglecting weight, wind load, etc), what about constraint?

I know that its going to fail(burst) only when there is a huge pressure differential inside-outside, how do I convey this information to the software?

    Hi

Pressure on vessel is equal rho*g*z

position the vessel at z=0 corresponding to water level

enter analysis>pressure switch magnitude to 'equation' and enter 1e-9*9810*z >create pressure loads

constraint should not be any SPC, you should activate inertia relief and neglect spc in loadsteps definition
