Connect Shell elements with solids

Hello Professionals,

I want to fill the shell structure below with solid elements.

shell.JPG

The target of my work is to do a topology optimization of the filled shell. In this topology optimization the shell elements would be the no design space and the solids become the design space. I tried to mesh the solids with TetraMesh. But when I enhance the displacement factor to more than 20, the structure of the topology optimization isn't connected to the shell structure around anymore. You can see the in the following picture.

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>Result Tetramesh.JPG

I also tried to mesh the design space with SolidMap Mesh, but when I want to mesh the solid next to the tube, HyperMesh displays the following.<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>SolidMap.JPG

Is there any opportunity to connect the shell elements with the solid elements?

Best regards,

Tobias

    Refer below topics in forum.

For Topology optimization did you define any manufacturing constraints in your model?

    If possible share your model.

    Hi Rahul,

    as manufacturing  designs I define

    -min and max member size

-a draw direction: split (vector is in z-direction)

-and pattern grouping 1 plane throug the middle y-axis

Could you share out file of the run?

Curious to know your optimization setup (Responses constraint and objective).

My objective is: minimize volume fraction

    Responses are:

    -mass

    -volume

    -volume fraction

    -compliance

    -static displacement

As constraint I defined the displacement in a interval between -8 and 8 mm.

Load is a linear static force.

    The .out file is:
