Hi,

I have to design patch array antenna in FEKO. I created four-element patch antenna in CADFEKO. Firstly i chose coaxial probe feed method. I feed with a separate probe for each patch antenna. I got this error;

The following message from the server process (MYID= 1):

The following message from the master process (MYID= 0):

ERROR 1036: Not enough memory available for the matrix

See also message in the output file antenna probe-fed_fr_1_ada_1.out

ERROR 35439: Out-of-core solution not allowed for the FEKO Student Edition

See also message in the output file antenna probe-fed_fr_1_ada_1.out

ERROR 31061: ADAPTFEKO run will terminate now due to error in RUNFEKO

Then i chose mictrostrip line feed and i got the same error. I run just POSTFEKO. I got this error;

Error 16318: array_patch.bof file contains solution errors.
See the array_patch.out file for more details.

What am i supposed to do? Thanks in advance

    Hello irem,

    The error that you are seeing has nothing to do with the feed method that you are using. FEKO is running out of memory (both RAM and HDD space for an out-of-core solution). My guess would be that you are meshing too fine. Are you using auto meshing or did you set the mesh size manually? Are your dimensions correct (maybe the model is set to have a unit of m, but you created the model using dimensions of mm)? Is your frequency correctly set? Without the model, these are the only items I can think of now.

    Regarding the feeding, I assume that you are referring to a a 'pin feed' when you say 'coaxial probe feed' or what are you referring to? I also assume that you are using the planar multilayer substrate to model the dielectric layers and the ground since it would be required for the microstrip port.

    The error in POSTFEKO is simply indicating that the binary output file (BOF) has an error, but you already know this since you pasted the error in your post above.

    Thanks for your concern. I solved the memory problem. I designed a 2x1 array antenna instead of 2x2 antenna and i used microstrip line feed. I set frequency to 2.4 GHz. I used auto meshing. I got this warning:

    ADAPTFEKO has at least once reached the minimum frequency stepping and terminated prematurely (possibly no convergence).

    ADAPTFEKO has reached minimum frequency stepping, results might not have converged.
