Hello all,

I have been using hypermesh to mesh some parts made out of carbon composites for my car model. However i am experiencing som eproblems lately. when i try to export the model to ls prepost, it just exports nodes but the elemnts remain unexported. I am using Hypermesh 2017.1 version and LS Dyna keyword971 8.0. Could someone guide me asto what can be done to fix this problem? thanks very much in advance

    Hello,

Thanks. You prefer it as keyword (ls dyna) or hm file or fem file? thanks again

Hello, I have attached fem file and keyword file. both are same models.Yet, when you open them using Hypermesh and LS Prepost respectively but the elements being shown are different.

    Hi,

Instead of .k as extension keep it as .nas (manually rename the extension)  and try opening in prepost, thatis 10.nas

Thanks very much. it works but the shell elements of different components fall under the same feature tree when i opened it in ls prepost or primer. is that normal or should i make changes to the model in HM before exporting as NASTRAN input file?

    Hi,

The model created in HyperMesh seems fine and this issue  seems to be related with LS prepost. I suggest you to contact their support team.

    Hello

I suppose its not something that has to do with lsprepost. because it doesnt work on Oasys primer. and this problem doesnt occur when hypermesh v13 is used and same versions of ls prepost and oasys primer.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Thank you for your update. We will look into this and will fix the same if it's an issue with the HyperMesh.

Meanwhile, you can also try updating HyperMesh with the latest patch (2017.2).
