Extract from LS-Dyna key file

Hi there,

I a trying to extract some parts of a full FEM model of a car in the .key file to do some simulations in Abaqus (attached file1). I tried to create the geometry of the surface from FE. It turned out not to be a connected component. Every component was divided into several pieces( file 2 & file 3). Is there any other option to let me know the geometry of a meshed component?

No magic method for creating surface from mesh. You have to work alot to get something good.

Hi mingzhe_mao,

You can play with the options in the Surface panel to get as much information as possible from the FE data.
