Scaling the model and meshing

I am working on a aircraft model having span of 80 m.

What should be the appropriate size of the model so that the meshing can be done ?

What size can be handled by HyperMesh without giving 'not responding' problem. This problem of 'not responding' usually comes.

Right now, I have scaled it down to 40m and meshing done with element size of 0.05 mm. Very fine mesh created using 'tria' elements. It has to be used in VWT so , tria elements are used.

Is the scaling appropriate ? Do I need to scale it down more?

Thanks

Garima

    Hi,

Please mesh the part with actual size.if actual part size is 80m then your cad should also have same dimension.if it is not same you can scale the part with appropriate value.while importing geometry you have the option for scaling.

Go to the Tools panel and select Scale in the middle column.
