Hello!!

I am doing dynamic analysis of vibration measurement test rig for single cylinder engine assembly. I have specified time varying force using DAREA , TABLED1 & TLOAD1.  I want to know how to specify time varying moment of large time history (90 seconds, 0.0003125 s-increment).

Thanks & Regards

    Hi RamSubramanian,

You can reference MOMENT load in RLOAD1 as excitation load.

Please refer to RLOAD1 card in help for more information.

In same way, DAREA(Rotational dof activated) can be referenced as excitation load in TLOAD1 to specify time varying moment????

    Hi,

yes you can give DAREA in TLOAD1. Are you performing any rotar dynamic simulation?

    Thanks sir.

No. I am doing dynamic analysis of vibration measurement test rig for single cylinder engine assembly. I am going to apply the reciprocating imbalance forces & moments  at the crank bearing and going to find acceleration response at the crankcase.

I have tried DAREA(Rotational dof activated) to define time varying moment, but it failed. But  if I changed  DAREA(translation dof activated) ,it worked out! I mean DAREA can only be defined as force instead of moment.

    Hi HuangZhou,

You can directly refer MOMENT or FORCE in TLOAD1 card. Refer to the attached snapshot from help.

Thanks for your reply! That is truely what I want to  emphasize! I have used  the same way as you said, and the result is the same compared with result  I get from patran/nastran.

Yes, MOMENT can be used as excited in TLOAD# and RLOAD#
