Questions about element check and tetra mesh optimization
Dear all,
When the mesh quality is insufficient, OptiStruct exits with errors. Violated criteria are given in the .out file. Some criteria do not match to those in hypermeh Tool/ check elems or those in tetra mesh optimization.
E.g.

OptiStruct uses 'Edge Angle' for TET10. What is the corresponding criterion in HyperMesh / Tool / check elems or tetra mesh optimization?
I get element quality errors in OptiStruct also due to 'Face Vertex Angle' (TET10). What is the corresponding criterion in tetra mesh optimization so that I can improve those angles?

Hi,
Are you performing shape optimization?
hypermesh check face vertex angle but some solvers concern about face-edge-face angle
also with tetra model you should verify tet collapse. so thin tetras make poor quality of model
for other types of angle you need a script or a template to check by hypermesh
