How to specify time dependent load as an equation in hypermesh?

Hello everyone!!!

       I am doing transient dynamic analysis. I need to specify time dependent load at a node, as the time history is long it is impractical to use TABLED1 type load collector to specify the time variation of the load.

Is there any possibility to specify the variation of load as an equation directly in Hypermesh?

Or Can I import large table containing Load Vs Time data from excel to Hypermesh?

Any suggestions regarding this will be of great help to me.

Thanks!

Regards

    Hi,

    You can import file to TABLED1 card.

    Goto Utility>> Table create>> TableD1>> Browse file (,txt, .csv, .dat, are supported formats)

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>post-7616-0-88270900-1425270550_thumb.jp

    In order to specify a time  varying force which is not aligned with XYZ, Can dircection cosines  (for ex: unit load inclined at an anlge Q with respect to X,  X=cos(Q), Y=sin(Q) ) be specified in the DAREA as excitation that will be subsequently called by TLOAD1??

    You may have to create a local coordinate system inclined at the required angle, set the relevant nodes to this coordinate system, then apply the darea.
