Surfaces failed to mesh

Whenever I try to mesh this geometry, I get an error saying 2 surfaces failed to mesh. Sometimes I can get one surface to mesh if I change the mesh size and the type to R-trias - I have no idea what the issue is. I've tried going back into CATIA to try and find the issue but no luck. A mesh size of 1 also causes an absurd number of failing elements. Please help.

I have a new problem, I realise now I need to use the PSOLID model, but whenever I try to remove the free edges from my mesh so I can use the tetramesh option, it gives me an error saying 'Couldn't stitch : Gap: 20.830358' It also messes up the geometry. My non-manifold surfaces will not delete either.

    Hello,

Can you please check your geometry again. Seems there are some geometrical issues in your model.

When you visualize it 'by 2D topo' you can see the yellow area. Can you please confirm if the geometry is correct.

Please simplify the geometry so the meshing can happen easily.

    Thank you

Thanks for your help, I managed to use tetramesh to produce a 3D mesh however I get an absurd number of tet collapse elements, around 500, which is not possible to fix manually. What can I do to solve this issue or reduce the number of tet collapse elements to a manageable amount.

How big is the tetcollapse value you used to check?

Try remove small shell elements (0.5mm) before generate tetra mesh

To get a good tetramesh it is always recommended to generate a good 2D mesh first then convert it to 3D.

A lot of work should give to geometry preparing work.

What type of solid element you will make? Tetra mesh? If yes, why you make 'quad' surface mesh?
