I have a 2d tetra mesh which has 540 failed skew elements.I want to reduce that failed skew elements .How can i do that?

I attached the image ,please take a look.

If you want really do this check, you have to simplify your geometry or decrease element size around the holes.

But, this criterion is not so important (believe me!). Your mesh is good enough to do an analysis.

Don't forget that you're working with 3D TET4 elements at the end. So quality check for 3D TET4 is also important.

I have participated in a contest.SO they give marks for good geometry cleanup and mesh quality, Is my mesh enough to get the marks?

As you will be working on 3D mesh i think you should focus more on the element quality of the 3d elements.

Now as you will have 3D tetra elements the main criteria to focus should be 'tet collapse'.

    Thankyou

    Then what about me.

I created tetra mesh, I have 0 failed elements in tet collapse. In skew failed elements are 1500.

Then i would suggest you to do a local remesh in the area where there is high concentration of failed elements.

    Thankyou

I want to mesh on below area. Can you suggest which type of method would be better to reduce skewness error?

very very thanks for your rply

Try reducing the element size because as i can see how many times you remesh the skew error will come.

As you are going to a tetra mesh i say again we mainly focus on tet collapse and not so much on skew.

If you still want to improve the mesh you have to first improve the 2D mesh by either reducing the element size or by moving the nodes of the elements etc because if the 2D mesh is good then the tetra mesh will also be good.

    Thankyou
