Why can't I vary element size in automesh?

Hello,

I made a simple outer geometry with complex inner shape.

So, I decided to make the 2d element size small for the complex region

and larger element size for the simple region.

But all the elements seem to be the same size, without varying in size.

What is the problem?

I attached screen capture files

This could be due to various reasons specific to your model,

One of them would be to maintain connectivity, if the smaller elements have to be connected to the larger element region at various points, it will be necessary to decrease the element size there.

    So, I tried to use

'QI optimize,' 'edge deviation,' and 'surface deviation'

to make 2d mesh varying in element size.

But the methods seem to be same as 'size and bias' method.

How can I fix the problem?

    Thanks.

    Hi,

To have more control on element size please use Interactive in Automesh panel. This will take you to secondary automesh panel where you would have control along edges & element size.

In your case i see from the shared screenshot you used automatic method. Please try with interactive method and let us know the outcome.

    Regards
