Stress along a path defined by two nodes

Hi,

I am a new user of Optistruct and Hyperview and have a simple question:

Is it possible to get stress distribution between two nodes (by interpolation on path crossed elements)?

To illustrate my question :

I want to define on a 3D vessel mesh a node on inner skin and another on outer skin and to get stress distribution in the thickness (let say on 40 points like in Abaqus).

Pressure vessel calculators may understand where I want to go (stress linearization in the thickness)...

Thanks for your answer.

    Hello,

    Try the following:

    * create a section cut (Icon section cut)

    * move section to your location

    * switch off manipulator (browser right click at section nb, -> Hide Manipulator)

    * create your contour plot, be sure to have nodal results (maybe you have to averaging)

    * create a new measure group, select 'Node path'

    * pick starting node (inner side), pick end node (outer side) (you can also pick cutted lines)

    * create a curve and play around (insert extra points e.g.)

    Hopefully it works, best regards,

    Mario
