Definition of 3D Tetra Element Size

Hi,

 

Could anyone please tell how element size is defined in HM. Shortest edge length? Element volume?

I am trying to refine a 3D tetra mesh with HM.

It is the refined element length, size = Length and is calculated as 

 

The shortest distance from a corner node to its opposing edge (or face, in the case of tetra elements); referred to as 'minimal normalized height'.
