Is it possible to offset a 3D tet mesh so that the inner object can be a uniform body (no shark edges)?
Â
Thanks!
Hi Pka1991,
I am sorry, I did not understand your question. could you please explain with a picture?
you can try meshing by changing different parameters in tetramesh panel like changing the pyramid transition, growth rate, etc... This may some how help you achieve what you want.Â

Yes, offcourse
you can do it by first enter panel 2d>element offset> solid layer
make any number of layer as you want => this will generate hexa elements
then press shift+F6>solid element  => split hexas into tetras
so your tetra model seems to be 'uniform'
Thank  you tinh! So very helpful!
A 'uniform' mesh is OK for .... a 'Powerpoint presentation' only /emoticons/default_smile.png' alt=':)' srcset='/emoticons/smile@2x.png 2x' width='20' height='20'>
A 'good' mesh is OK for any analysis which brings to you good results.
I agree with you, I care more about a good mesh to properly model the outside layer of bone as cortical and the inside layer of cancellous. I just did not know to make an offest with tet mesh that was smooth on both sides.
Thank you
