Hi,

We have a model of a vehicle chassis that has been meshed with an automesh previously. However now we are looking to refine the mesh around holes with washers of a few layers but because the car is made out of multiple composite materials with over a 100 plies, we can't use the surface meshing features. How should we proceed to refine our mesh around holes?

Kind regards,

Jeroen De Vis

Do you have 2D or 3D mesh?

Show us some screenshots for your question?

    It's a 2D mesh

Can you try to Add a Washer feature available in utility browser?

After remeshing, I suggest you to check the plies if you modelled using ply based modelling.

    Hi @Prakash Pagadala

I've tried using the washer utility function and it works in some places but not everywhere like in the first picture above.

There are many geometry lines around that hole and because of those, it's not possible to place a washer there.

So i have tried to suppress those geometry lines and by doing so, i was able to create the washers i wanted.

However by suppressing these geometry lines, those parts of the structure were no longer part of plies and laminates which is a problem.

Is there any way to fix that?
