Hi all,

I'm using MAT24 of LSDYNA to create a plastic model in Hypermesh, but I wonder how does it work if I only input yield stress and keep LCSS empty? I tried the both methods and the results were quite different. Please help me!

Thanks a lot !

    Hello

you can define a plastic MAT24 material by:

    - using YS and ETAN => you get a bi-linear stress-strain with ETAN is young modulus at second segment

    - using EPS-ES, you can enter upto 8 stress-strain values

    - using LCSS, you can enter arbitrary stress-strain values, and optional LCSR with arbitrary LCSS-strain rate values

to simulate behaviour after yield point, you need stress-strain curve, so if you use LCSS your curve will be more correct than when you use bi-linear or 8 points EPS-ES

of course the results will be different
