Deuniting Unions and Hiding Components of Unions
How can a union in CADFEKO be broken back into its constituent components without duplicating the components and then deleting the old union? This workaround works but is annoying. Also is there a way to selectively hide components of a union without breaking up the union? I am using FEKO 7.0.

Hello Riiily,
How can a union in CADFEKO be broken back into its constituent components without duplicating the components and then deleting the old union?
Unfortunately there is currently no easy way to disunion or ununion, but we are considering it for the 2018 release (development on it has not been started, so no promises). What I do is to copy out the part that I want to edit, make my change and the drag it back into the original union (where I copied it from) and select to 'replace' the old one. In doing this, I'm updating my old union (even with multi level unions). Most of the time it is not even required for me to do that since I simply edit the parts directly. The same produced can be used to add part to a union (thus, not required to copy out, delete old union and then create a new one, just update the original one).
We are also working on feature for the 2019 release (still far) that could possibly avoid the unions in many situations - again, it is early days and I can't promise anything.
Also is there a way to selectively hide components of a union without breaking up the union?
Unfortunately this is not currently available, but will be available in the 2019 release (I know it is still far).
I am using FEKO 7.0.
I would really recommend that you upgrade to the latest version (currently FEKO 2017.1.2) to take advantage of improvements that have been made since FEKO 7.0.

I have recorded a short video that shows some of the union editing options. I hope that helps. It is often not required to copy out the union - I have done so in the video to illustrate the 'replace' option for unions.
