Orientation of 1d ele.

Hello,

  I am confused abt the orientation used for 1d elements in bar panel of hypermesh.

please explain and also suggest some article to read abt it.

Hi,

 

The orientation vector actually defines the bar element axis

see the image how the orientation of the element changes by changing the vector/component

 

This is also important as it determines where your stress recovery points are.
