Unit Cell Matrix Meshing - Meshing complex geometry to existing nodes

I am currently trying to mesh a unit cell model for my masters research project. I've successfully meshed the yarns, having reduced the fidelity of the mesh in order to satisfy the node limit of my student licence.

I'm now attempting to mesh the matrix, the geometry of which is quite complex. I would like the matrix mesh to make use of the existing nodes on shared surfaces with the yarn mesh.

I've found a post which describes precisely what I'm trying to do, however the method described (projecting elements then perform volume tetra mesh) has not worked in my case. I then projected the nodes from the shared surfaces onto the matrix then attempted to use these nodes as anchors when tetra meshing, however this also failed.

I've sectioned the volume of the solid into various segments in the hope of simplifying meshing, however I'm totally stuck at this point as to which tools to use to achieve the desired result.

Can anyone please advise? Any assistance is gratefully received.

The Unit Cell .hm file is attached for reference and FYI I shall be exporting the mesh to LS-DYNA to run my simulations.
