Key Shot 5

Hi , I was wondering if you could help me. I have just got a demo of key shot 5, I can import my solidthinking projects in it but I cannot render different sections with different materials. Is there a way of saving the different components in Evolve so that I can have access to the construction tree in Key shot?

Hi Lucy,

 

The easiest way to control which components should have different materials is to change their color in Evolve.  There are two ways to do this in Evolve.  

 

One is to assign the components to separate layers.  By default each layer will have a different color assigned to it.  

 

If you do not wish to assign new layers you can select a part or parts that should have the same material, click on the visual properties icon in the World Browser, deselect the Color by Layer option, and choose an new color.  Repeat this for all the different parts that should have different materials assigned to them.

 

Now when you open the file in Keyshot all the parts will be broken up by their color.
