Maximizing speed for AcuSolve-EDEM bidirectional coupled simulations

Hi. I'm running AcuSolve-EDEM bidirectional coupled simulations on a computer that has 8 cores and 16 logical processors. And no GPUs.

To get the maximum speed, how many CPU cores to use for EDEM and how many processors for Intel MPI in AcuSolve?

In other words, do I need to split the number of available cores between EDEM and AcuSolve?

Thanks a lot!

At least for AcuSolve we recommend using only the physical cores - no HyperThreading - so the most you would want to use for the simulation is 8 cores/processors total.  It's likely the same for EDEM.

When running a coupled simulation, the two codes run one at a time, so you could specify 8 for both EDEM and AcuSolve.
