Problem with tetra mesh quality

Hi,

I have used a volume tetra mesh on my solid model as shown below:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>Knipsel.thumb.PNG.a7c46f60bc1a41a32446eb

When I try to run optistruct I get an error about the mesh quality. Indeed, when I check elements for tetra collapse I see 4266 of 3271608 (0%) failed. I select those failed elements and the adjacent elements:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>Knipsel2.thumb.PNG.7cce597aac013f1fa05bb

and did a tetra remesh of the displayed elements. But when I check again voor tetra collapse the same elements fail.

Is there another way to improve the tetra collapse?

Many thanks,

Jan

(I have also included my model)

    Hi, if you just automesh your model, you'll be difficult to get good quality,

    manually modify to remove narrow surfs

    or edit your face mesh by deleting small 2d elems before generate tetra

    I saw your model including thin members, why don't you model it by 2D Shell elems instead of tetra?

    Hi,

    Use PARAM: CHECKEL : NO

    to run deck in Optistruct.
