RIgid body imposed velocity

Hi.

 

I've tried to build rigid body and the extra nodes.

The rigid body is placed CG of a car.

The extra nodes are placed in several nodes on fixed position of a seat inside a car.

I make imposed velocity, with its rigidbody, x translation (in my case translate backward), and LCID i integrate from acceleration-time history. I try to crash the seat into the box.

 

However, when i look the result animations, only rigid body and the extra nodes moved instead of the whole seat

Could i move the whole seat by only create imposed velocity of rigid body?

    Hi,

     

    How is the rigid body and the seat/box?

     

    When you say extra nodes, does they posses any mass or are they just temporary nodes?

    Hi Prakash,

     

    The extra nodes are rigid body's node representative, so these have mass as many as the rigid body.

     

    I assume the rigid body is car CG.

     

    I've been fixing the problem by add termination time, and the result : all body moved after the extra nodes have moved.

     

    And found new problem, the structure which i put the extra nodes made other structure to be buckled. I presume that the rigid body mass is too high (1000kg).

     

    Then i reduced the mass, it didn't solve the problem.

    Hi everyone,

     

    I ve also added floor for the seats and nothing changed.

     

    The component was duplicated when i tried to move it rearward by imposed velocity.

     

    are there any way to turn off the duplicated component as it moved with rigid body imposed velocity?
