AMC design simulation
How to simulate Artificial Magnetic Conductor (AMC) along with the substrate using periodic boundary cell (PCB) in FEKO?, i already try follow the example simulation of fss design ( inside example guide feko), but its totally difference because i need to see the result reflection phase.
Before this i using others simulation software, I also attach the example of the design with the result, i should get the same result..

Hi Nazrin, in principle it sounds like a very similar problem to the FSS example. Once you have run the simulation, plot the reflection coefficient in POSTFEKO, choose one of the components: Co- or Cross-polarisation. And then you will be able to plot the Phase for that component.
I hope that this helps.

Hello Nazrin,
I agree with Peter, what you are trying to do is almost exactly the same as the FSS example. I quickly created the model and simulated it between 1 GHz and 2 GHz just to see fi the results match. Obviously I have made a few assumptions - plane wave with normal incidence and co-polarisation. The results seem to match, noting that I used PEC and possibly a mesh that is a bit coarse. The attached image also shows you where to select 'Phase' in POSTFEKO - not that it only becomes available (as Peter indicated) when you select a polarisation (not available for total).

Kind regards
JIF

Thank you very much, its very helpful. I am wondering, how you apply the PBC on the model? Can you share the file to me? It will make me easy to see the step you did in the design.

Hello Nazrin,
Sure, I can send you the file. I have included it (I created it in FEKO 14.0.432). Please consider working through the EG example w.r.t. FSS. If you did that, you would know how to apply PBC to the model. ;-)
Below is a screenshot that indicates where this is set. You can also find items on the ribbon by just typing what you are looking for in the search bar - in this case, just type PBC and see what it lists.
Regards
JIF

Hello Jif,
Thanks again for your help. :-)
I realized the way you design is same with the example given in FEKO which is the FSS. I am working on it now, and I will ask here again for any help, thanks. :-)
