Hi,

I want to do a crash simulation on a tube at the speed 1mm/s (static). Is lsdyna capable to do it? If yes, how should I set up the time step?

mesh size: 3mm

termination time: 600000ms

Many thanks.

    Hi,

don't do it with LSDyna. It is a explicit solver for analyzing problems including high velocity, large deformation... using a explicit time integration.

So LSDyna needs a small time step !!! There are a lot of informations at the internet...

    Regards,

    Mario

perhaps you should use *CONTROL_IMPLICIT, take a view on http://www.dynaexamples.com/implicit for setup guide

first understand what IMPLICIT/EXPLICIT does and pay attention on contact issue
