hi. can anyone help me to sort out this error.

error:2331 two triangular surface patch overlap.

    Hi @teju

     

    Did you union all the parts in your model before meshing in CADFEKO?

    hi.. thank you for your response.  firstly i will try without union, at that time i will get the same error with some other triangle numbers. after union  it shows the same error as i attached in previous .

    Could you attach your model (or a simplified model that shows this problem)? It would be better than having to guess what could be going wrong (CAD problems, etc.).

    Hi Teju,

     

       Please check the out file in POST FEKO. You can find out the triangle number. Then select Find elements option( CTRL+F) enter the triangle number, you can locate the error part. If the part is not contributing much to solution remove it, otherwise you have to perform some cleaning.

     

    If you can share the model, we can look into the problem.

    hi.. thank for your responses.. but i cant rectify the problem..

    I attached the model in this request.. after performing union operation also it again shows the same error..  so plz help me to sort out..

    Hi @teju

     

    It looks like you are working with imported CAD, so it is quite likely that there are problems with the CAD that first need to be addressed. Feko requires the geometry to be discretised into a surface mesh (or volume mesh, depending on the solution method) and the results will only be as accurate as the mesh that is provided to the Solver. To successfully simulate the electromagnetic effects of a structure, you need to create a suitable representation of the real-world problem.

     

    Please refer to the Feko User Guide for information on CAD Fixing Tools. It might be necessary to apply a number of tools in succession to clean the model. You might also have to simplify, recreate or remove parts of the geometry to obtain a simple surface representation of the actual geometry. 

     

    Like Sumith said, you can use the 'Find elements' tool in POSTFEKO to see where in your model things are going wrong and you can remove parts that do not contribute to the solution. 

     

    Please attach your model if you would like others to provide more specific advice.

    i applied all your suggestions to the model like identifying the error parts by using finding elements technique and the tools to remove the error parts. but it go on showing the errors at  some other different places.

    Hi Teju,

     

    Seems like you have several if not lots of intersections in your mesh. I think attaching your model (*.cfx) would really help solving this problem.
