Has anybody applied temperature to an optimization? Does this affect the optimization in any way, or are you supposed to just use it to see a temperature profile when you analyze a structurally optimized part?
We did some tests in the past but the thermal input did not effect the results.

You can apply a temperature, which will just affect the thermal expansion. Stresses, caused by the thermal expansion are used to analyse and also optimize a part.
