Dear all,

I have a problem regarding element quality for TETRA element. When the mesh quality is not good, analysis that runs on OptiStruct exit, with errors. Violated items are shown in the .out file, as shown below:-

Acceptable range violations:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Element     Property    # of     Acceptable Range    Max.  Viol.  Elem.
Viol.     Lower        Upper    Value  type    No.
 ------- -------------------  --------  ------------  --------- ---------   ---    -------
 TETRA   Edge Angle       4            --          87.00     87.39   U   1963035

Any ideas on how to counter this issue/perform TETRA element check? I ususally do F10 for trias, but for 3-D? Regards

    Hi Nguyen,

Unfortunately, I've tried that but not successful.

I'm currently try to fix the 4 problematic elements manually (find the elements by id and modify)

    Thanks anyway for your idea  image/emoticons/default_smile.png' alt=':)' srcset='/emoticons/smile@2x.png 2x' width='20' height='20'>

    Hi,

output message says 'Edge Angle' so perhaps it is right for F10>3d check angle,

just enter 87.0 into 'tria faces max angle' on F10 panel then check your model

If it says 'Face Angle' maybe you'll need a template to check dihedral angle (abaqus specification)
