Meshing issues with imported files (Parasolid or iges)

Hi,

I imported a parasolid assembly file and cleaned up the geometry. When I begin 3d tetra meshing, some parts cannot be selected since are not considered as solid. So I cannot mesh all partS.

Did anyone already face this kind of problem.

Thanks

    Hi,

Do you mean you cannot mesh tetra for some components?

May be those components did not enclose,

Try using Geom/solids panel to create solid for the comps, if it do not enclose, hm will highlight the missing surfs

or switch Geom Style Color to 'by topo' and looking for the red lines (free-edges)

Another way that you can try automesh (2D) on all surfs of the components, and use Shift+F3 to search free-edges

    Hi Tinh,

Thank you  so much for you reply. I tried your suggestion by using Geom/Solid/ Bounded Surfaces and the solid geometry I needed is created.
