Welding

I am working on crash analysis of a truck chassis. It has various components and I have meshed them using batchmesher, checked quality and then I have manually created spot welds. This method takes a very long time. Now my professor is asking me to do a convergence study using different element size. My question is now if I have to mesh my whole chassis, which has about 40 components, is there any easy way to mesh them and weld them, or should I do it in the conventional way which I did before.
