Import IGES

hey guys,

i am new here. i want to import a geometry but my programm tell me that the 'file could not be opened'. if i would import a geometry like a STEP file it is possible.

what is wrong with my programm? is anybody familiar with this problem?

Did you check this in latest version?Did you try to check with any other iges file or Auto detect option while importing?If possible share same file for test.

Also please let us know the HW version which you are using at your end.Latest version is HW 2017.

I sucessfully able to import both igs in to Hypermesh 14.0 & 2017.

Starting from 2017 all HW product version based on their respective release year .Are you using Student edition or full version which is used by commercial customer?

i tried to reinstall it but i also faild again to open the iges with the reinstalled version. to check this: i installed the version 14 from link i get in my e mail (run as admin), then after installation i make a copy of the license key an put it in C:\Program Files\Altair\14.0-edu\security\altair_lic.dat and then open it normal? is the way of installation correct?

another question, is it possible to install the version 17 when i once ordered the 14th version. i tried to download the 17th version but the download always stops just a second bevor it is fully on my computer?

Hi Marco,

We are able to import the IGES files in both student edition and full version. Looks like the problem is more machine specific.

Coming to HW 2017, try a different browser to download the executable. Also, you need a new license file to use HW 2017 as the old license file is absolute.So, apply for a new license to use 2017 /emoticons/default_smile.png' srcset='/emoticons/smile@2x.png 2x' title=':)' width='20'>

good news. i installed the 17th version and now it is no problem to open it :-)
