modeling of a tensile test

Hello,

I am trying to model a simple tensile test with HyperMesh and the solver OptiStruct, however the results I obtain are inconsistent regarding the stresses. The detail of how I implemented the model and how I used results is in the attached document.

Please tell me what I have done wrong.

    Hi,

    You do right, but see wrong :D/emoticons/default_biggrin.png' srcset='/emoticons/biggrin@2x.png 2x' title=':D' width='20' />

It's because stress components are not output in red-green-blue coordinate system

so it's ok if you select Global System in 'resolved in' when using hyperview

    Hi,

I come back to this problem, I would like to model what happens beyond the yield stress that is in the plastic field. Is it possible to do with OptiStruct?

    Thank you,

    Thomas
