For complicated geometry, it's better to use CAD software (PTC Creo, Catia, Solidworks,...)
You can do some simplification within HM, but it's costly (working time).

You can easily delete these protrusion using mask and delete tools (Delete the surface also on which protrusion are); then create surface using ruled (geometry>surface>Ruled). It will be the quickest way to simplify.

Another workaround is to trim the solid with a circular line with a diameter= total diameter of the component - thickness of protrusion. This works only if the component is symmetric and circular.
If the geometry of the component is complex, better go with a traditional CAD tool instead as Q.NGUYEN-DAI suggested.
