Contacts between different types of meshes

Hello everyone,

My questions are:

I have an assembly; 1) Is it possible to mesh one part with hexa mesh and other with tetra mesh?

                             2) Two parts with different mesh densities (no matching nodes)?

                             3) One 2D and other 3D part with different elements and with no matching nodes?

Please also tell me what type of contacts are to be used for welded joints (I am not simulating the welds) in explicit analysis in the above three cases?

1.Yes it is possible to mesh some part with hex & some part with tetrahedral element.

2.You can define contact to transfer load and moment from one part to another.

Which explicit solver you are using for analysis?

    Thank you sir,

I am using Radioss (v12.0) solver.

Do we need to take of any concerns after defining the contacts between two different (tetra and hexa) meshes?
