Number of plies as variable

Hello,

How can I make the number of plies as the variable rather than the thickness of the ply, since the ply thickness has to be 0.2 mm, and the number of layers can change.

And I see that there is nothing like manufacturing thickness when I connect HyperWorks to HyperStudy. I'm using GA as solving algorithm.

Thank you.

By changing the Mode of DV in Define Input variable>Details from continuous to discrete, one can give sets of the number which that design variable can take, like 0, and 0.2 for ply thickness, and the integer for ply angle.

Discrete variables  can only take values defined by the user such as number of bolts, specific values of thickness.

Yes, if 0 is one of the value which ply can take as thickness then it will take it.. minimizing the mass. Also takes thickness which can be manufacturerale which is specified by the user.
