Hi all, I just wanted to know why do we check element quality in hypermesh?. And can we run analysis without checking element quality?

    Hi Rahul,

In simple terms, the best mesh quality you create, the more accurate the results will be. While meshing any part there are a lot of challenges. Capturing features of the geometry is one of the main and important challenge, especially  features that are smaller than the global element size and fitting elements so that it captures the curvature of the component. This leads to elements deviating from their ideal shape. There are many  quality parameters which account for this ideal shape of an element, and the most important are: Jacobian, Warpage and Aspect Ratio. Any element which fits these quality parameters is good enough to give satisfactory results in simulation.

I recommend you to go through Practical Aspects of Finite Element Simulation (A Study Guide) which details about the basics of FE simulations where these topics are well covered.
