Hello. I've got a series of surfaces which enclose a volume and I have no free edges, only green and yellow edges.
When I try to create the solid, HM says that there are 4 solids created. What possible reasons could there be for this happening?
Without this HM model in hand nobody can help you.

yellow edges indicate that there are T-connections in model, T-connections will split the volume into 4 sub volumes
try removing these T-connections first
Semi-related question: I've managed to get purely green edges on the model but when I try to generate a solid from the enclosing surfaces, I get an error message stating no enclosed volume is found...
