I know I'm asking a vague question but can someone guide me about the basics of Nastran.

Please see the attached image for details.

If anyone could point me to useful resources it would be highly appreciated.

    Resource looks good.Nastran is not Altair Solver but Hyperworks Optistruct  solver card are almost similar to Nastran.

    So we can help you only wrt to Optistruct analysis queries.I believe most of the things listed in above is available with Optistruct.

     

    If you want you can refer Optistruct tutorials.See attached screenshot.
