Element grouping and group optimization
Hello,
I want to create a concrete beam with manufacturing constraints. I have to collect elements (for example 5*5*5 elements) in groups. After that, these (element-)groups should be optimized as a whole.
You can imagine the manufacturing as a 3D concrete-printer which is only able to 'print' a layer which matches to one (element)group. So the whole beam should consist of
these layers=element-groups.
Is it possible to do it with a topology optimization?
Thanks for your help,
Fabi

Hi,
Yeah, you can create a group of elements and make this group as a design space where optimization is only carried on these elements and rest of the elements are untouched.
